Chanel Le Vernis Longwear Nailpolish

When I was about 15 years old, I started reading my first blog about beauty and fashion. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the blog or the lady who wrote it, but she had a faible for Chanel, especially for their handbags and nailpolishes.
She had a massive amount of nailpolishes, like 30 or something like that, and I remember how impressed my 15 year- old me was and how I thought that one day, when I'm old (you know, 'old') I want to have as much Chanel nailpolishes as she had.
My collection all started with my first Chanel nailpolish, 203 Miami Peach, that I got from my boyfriend for Christmas in 2010, and I still remember that moment when I packed it out and was out of control because I was sooo happy.
Now we have 2016 and 11 other followed.

You might imagine that it was a very exciting moment for me when I read that Chanel sell some new formulated nailpolishes from April. Since I have a very special relationship to their nailpolishes, I couln'd wait to try the new ones.

On it says:

"The newly-renovated 5-free formula features Bioceramics and Ceramides to improve the quality of nails. In an arresting palette of 15 trend-setting shades, including bestselling cult favorites and daring new colours."

Furthermore Chanel introduced a new topcoat, the "Le Gel Coat". Chanel says:

"Specially created to enhance LE VERNIS Longwear Nail Colour, LE GEL COAT Longwear Top Coat extends the wear for up to seven days. Activated by natural light, the innovative, clear top coat bonds to nail colour for flexibility, strength and unprecedented wear. The result: an ultra-glossy, gel-like look without the UV lamp."

In summary, the new longwear nailspolish should look like gel and should last for up to seven days. I tested the nailpolish for you guys here is what I think about it:

The Application
First I used a topcoat to prevent my nails from getting stained. Then I applied one coat from Le Vernis 500 Rouge Essentiel. The texture is very light but well covering; one coat looks perfect! At the end it tends to get a bit sticky but it's still easy and consistent to apply. I let it dry for about 30 minutes, but I think it was dried even after 10 minutes.
Then I added one coat from the Le Gel Coat, which is also very light but tends to get a bit sticky at the end aswell, yet the nailpolish looks on all nails pretty perfect. It didn't need that much time to dry aswell, maybe about another 20 minutes again to keep out of harm's way.

The Look
After the coats dried the nailpolish in combination with the topcoat look very perfect. The colour is super intensive and the shine is massive. Never had such a perfect glossy nailpolish before.

The Hold
Days 1 to 4 the nailpolish was in absolute perfect condition, no chipping anywhere. Sometimes I was a bit negligent and it happend that my nails came threw a zipper or between the keys, but my nailpolish lastedt everything without gettind scratches or anthing like that.
On day 5 the nailpolish started to get chipped of at one finger, but in it's tiniest possible. I still felt comfortable to wear it as the chipping was extremly tiny; maybe I was the only person who noticed. Furthermore the nailpolish makes my nails much harder than they feel without which prevents the polish from chipping aswell.
On day 6 the chipping gone much bigger, so I decided to remove the polish.

The Removal
The Removal was much easier than expected, not harder than with other polishes. Definitely a pro!

The Conclusion
I'm happy and surprised at the same time! I never thought that a nailpolish could last that long, especially my other Chanel nailpolishes started chipping off after 2-3 days.
I really love my collection, but I think that the new formulated one will be worn the most the next few weeks, as it's really as good as it's promise.
Especially when having busy weeks we all know it's nice to have good looking nails while not spending too much time on them.
The price of 25-26€ for one of the polishes is on the expensive side, but in comparison to the "old" colours it's only 1€ more, so it's okay I think.
So my apply to you would be if you have 50€ left, go for them! They are absolutly worth it and it's still so much favourable than letting your nails done every 3-4 weeks, yet the look of the nailpolish is nearly as good as with gel nails!

  1. wow sieht toll aus

  2. I love it

    Liebe Grüße,
